Warsaw 1626. Short history of a long lasting sejm

This sejm was convened on 7 December 1625. The pre-sejm sejmiks were held in December 1625. The sejm debated from 27 January to 10 March 1626. Jakub Sobieski, son of the voivode of Lublin, was elected the marshal. During the sejm, many “exorbitances” (postulates how to change improper solutions) were raised and reported, mostly negated by the king. Dealing with “exorbitances” took much time and drew attention away from fundamental matters, of which very little were debated.
